The Kockanapok event came to Debrecen as part of a traveling exhibition. Cívisváros was not the first, the organizers have already visited several cities in the country with this unusual exhibition. In Debrecen, constructions made of LEGO blocks were exhibited, for which a total of two million building blocks were used. This is the largest collection in Hungary.
The event was very popular, the exhibition venue was practically full when we got there. Regardless of age, a lot of people tried to capture a building they liked, or even take a photo with it – so you could often only walk slowly between the crowds.
It’s true, there was a lot to see, crammed into a small space compared to the nature of this exhibition. Those who were patient could admire amazing buildings. A portrait of the Beatles and a portrait of Jack Sparrow came to life through the work of the creators, but characters from the Marvel and DC series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, or the Terminator could not be left out of the list.
In addition to branded car wonders, the makers also exhibited the iconic IFA, the small Polski and the beetle-back Volkswagen. We could see works that moved to make the overall effect more spectacular. In another room, world-famous buildings were displayed, so in addition to the Colusseum, the Sagrada Familia, the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal, we could also admire the Tower of London and Big Ben in miniature.
The organizers also thought of the little ones: they made Disney characters and placed a life-size replica of Super Mario on a table. And those who were tired had the opportunity to occupy themselves with Duplo on the play mat or try out their creativity in the play house.
