From May 1, 2023, DKV Zrt. will implement a 14.7% price increase. In addition to the price change, the structure of the ticket and pass system will also change from May 1.
Inter-monthly passes
Considering the needs of the passengers, in addition to keeping the current monthly pass structure, DKV Zrt. will introduce electronic passes during the month. Monthly passes are valid from the start of the operation on the 1st of the given month until the end of the operation on the 5th of the following month, while inter-monthly passes can be exchanged for any starting day and entitle you to travel until the end of the day preceding the same day of the following month.
The price of inter-monthly passes is the same as the price of monthly passes.
The additional pass is terminated
From May 1, 2023, holders of county and national passes can travel with a significant discount on intercity services. Currently, students studying in Debrecen coming from the countryside, as well as passengers who work here, use local public transport at a discount, the so-called can also be used by purchasing an additional pass.
However, the county and national pass cannot be linked to Debrecen, nor is it compatible with the additional pass in terms of the validity period, so it cannot be used together with it.
The additional pass is terminated.
The half-monthly pass will be terminated
The possibility of using inter-monthly passes provides much greater flexibility in terms of the validity period, so keeping the general half-monthly passes has become unwarranted.
The group ticket will be canceled
Groups of students accompanied by an escort are entitled to purchase a group ticket if they order in advance. With the introduction of the significantly easier-to-use and more affordable small-group ticket, the need for group tickets practically disappeared over the years.
Encouraging the purchase of electronic tickets, passengers can still purchase certain vouchers at a discount in electronic form.

The refundability of tickets will change
After the price increase, tickets can currently be used for 3 months after the price change, after which they can be returned.
From May 1, tickets will no longer be redeemable. After the price change, paper-based tickets can be used for 3 months, then until the last working day of the calendar year following the price change, undamaged line tickets and collector tickets can be exchanged for tickets of the same type at the customer service with a valid price by paying the difference in value.
Mobile tickets can be used for 1 month, they are non-refundable.
The returnability of passes will change
From May 1, monthly and winter passes can only be redeemed at customer service before their validity begins, against a handling fee, at full price. This means that the option to redeem monthly passes at half price from the 1st to the 15th will no longer be available.
The surcharge items and deadlines are subject to change
The new surcharge structure is also adapted to the current willingness to pay, the increasingly serious economic burdens, and the increase in ticket and pass prices.
From May 1, 2023, in addition to the change in the amounts of the additional fee items, the payment deadline will also be shortened. These changes still do not exceed the current surcharge rates of other major cities.
