Aquaticum Termálfürdő joins the Debrecen City Card program

Mayor László Papp and Lajos Fazekas, managing director of Aquaticum Debrecen Kft., held a press conference on the expansion of discounts provided by the Debrecen City Card at the Aquaticum Termálfürdő on May 10, 2023.

László Papp recalled that the Debrecen City Card introduced in the spring of 2020 was the first smart ID card-based city card in the country, and more than twenty thousand Debrecen residents have joined the popular initiative so far. As he said, the number of acceptance points is more than fifty, and Aquaticum Strand was the first to join the card program.

It was said: in addition to the municipal companies – Nagyerdei Kultúrpark, Kodály Philharmonia, MODEM – the partners also include numerous catering establishments, restaurants, pastry shops and cafes.

The range of acceptors is expanding by one more, the Aquaticum Termálfürdő will join the Debrecen City Card program as a new unit from May 15. Anyone who can show a Debrecen City Card gets a 15 percent discount on the price of the entrance ticket. This discount applies to adult, student and pensioner tickets. Anyone who changes their pass can secure a discount of up to 33 percent

– announced the city manager.

He added that the first city cards issued in 2020 will expire shortly, but at the May general meeting, they will discuss extending their validity for ten years, so the cards would expire in 2030. He added that the city card was created with the purpose of creating an identity so that the people of Debrecen can access various services in Debrecen at a discount.

Lajos Fazekas stated that the city card discount will continue to exist on the beach. – In the case of the thermal bath, it is important to mention that 75 percent of the guests are from Debrecen, so this discounted entry option affects a very wide range of people, and additional discounts are provided for the purchase of five or ten suitable passes – he listed. He noted that spas nationally opened for the season with a 40 percent price increase, but in Debrecen, this value is 15 percent or even lower.

The Debrecen City Card can currently be redeemed at two locations in Debrecen: the Tourinform office (Piac utca 20) and the DV Parking Customer Service (Füredi út 27, Malompark II. first floor).
