At the national level, the concentration of ragweed pollen is very high, no significant changes are expected this week – the National Center for Public Health and Medicines (NNGYK) informed MTI on Tuesday.
They wrote that due to the rains and cooling in the last week, the concentration of ragweed pollen decreased significantly, however, as the weather warmed up, the pollen load increased again.
Based on the measurement results of the aerobiological network, this year’s ragweed pollen season is stronger than last year’s. Moderate pollen concentrations causing symptoms were first registered in the last week of July, a few days earlier than last year. The national average reached the medium level a few days earlier, and the high and very high concentration days also occurred a day or two earlier.
Very high concentrations were first measured at the beginning of August, while extremely high concentrations were also registered at 6 stations – Békéscsaba, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Szeged, Tatabánya, and Miskolc – in August. Based on the data so far, the ragweed pollen concentration reached the highest national average on August 28.
Allergic symptoms can be reduced with medication, they wrote.
