The Festival of the Little Ones is a traditional autumn event at the Újkerti Manófalva Kindergarten, where kindergarteners greet the children who have just arrived at the institution.
All seven groups of Manófalva participate in order to get to know the new “elves” in a festive setting. Pedagogists of the neighboring nursery are present as invited guests at the ceremony, so that they can see the children from their nursery become kindergarteners.
Children are treated to a festive program, dramatized fairy tales and autumn singing games. At the end of the ceremony, the kindergarten teachers’ choir greets the new small group members with a bouquet of autumn songs, and then the entire kindergarten sings the opening song “Manófalva” together. The ceremony expresses the sense of belonging to one another in a way that the children could understand, that all small kindergarteners belong to a large community, the Újkert Manófalva Kindergarten community.
