Police from Hajdú-Bihar, Békés, and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties, along with investigators from the National Investigation Office’s Asset Recovery Department and tactical units of the Counter-Terrorism Center (TEK), simultaneously targeted members of a criminal network.
As a result of the operation, 20 drug dealers were arrested, 75 million HUF worth of assets were seized, and several kilograms of drugs were confiscated.
Investigations were conducted in parallel in Hajdú-Bihar and Békés counties, uncovering a drug trafficking network operating across multiple regions. The police gathered evidence pointing to the head of the organization, a man from Jászság, and confirmed that the network spanned several counties. The goal was to dismantle the entire criminal operation, leading to close coordination between the police forces, sharing all relevant data.
On the morning of the operation, the police raided 35 locations, arresting 26 dealers. During the searches, they seized over 3 kilograms of drugs, tablets, trafficking tools, 45 mobile phones, and gas-powered firearms.
In Hajdú-Bihar, 9 individuals were arrested, 9 in Békés, and 2 in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok. The police have requested the detention of all 20 suspects. Six other individuals were questioned and are currently free to defend themselves during the investigation. A number of drug consumers were also detained during the operation for possession of illegal substances.
The Asset Recovery Department carried out searches in eight locations, targeting criminal assets. They confiscated real estate worth 16.5 million HUF, gold jewelry worth 3.5 million HUF, a luxury car worth 4 million HUF, and over 5,000 EUR and 45 million HUF in cash. In total, more than 75 million HUF worth of assets were seized from the criminals.
