The city’s budget includes funding for economic growth, sports, and institutional improvements. In addition, Debrecen is allocating a significant amount to upgrading its water network.

On Monday afternoon, Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa presented the economic, sports, and institutional renovation aspects of Debrecen’s 2025 budget at the office building of the Vértesi Road Wastewater Treatment Plant. He emphasized that the choice of location was intentional, as the city is about to embark on a water utility development project of a scale unseen in decades.

As he also stated on his social media, nearly 60 billion forints are planned for the development of Debrecen’s water utility infrastructure. The improvements aim to expand service to new areas in the eastern parts of the city while also enhancing supply security throughout Debrecen.
