Tose who “see with their hearts” recited poems in Józsa, creating touching moments for guests attending the “In the Land of Poems” competition.

Participants spent an uplifting and heartwarming afternoon together at the “In the Land of Poems” recitation contest, hosted by the DEMKI Józsa Community House on May 13, 2026. The event, organized by the community center and the Northern Great Plain Regional Association of the Visually Impaired (LÉARE), had a uniquely intimate atmosphere as visually impaired children and adults took the stage. Through their heartfelt performances, they showcased both the power and beauty of poetry and their own remarkable talents.

The performances deeply moved the audience and once again proved that poetry can truly build bridges between people, strengthen communities and make us more sensitive toward one another.

The celebratory afternoon was further enriched by piano performances from special education teacher and charity athlete Péter Nádudvari, as well as a demonstration by therapy dogs from the SANSZ Foundation.

The organizers also expressed their special thanks to Edit Bódor, patron of the event and president of the Debrecen Charity Board, for her support and distinguished presence.
