Two Gripens of Hungarian Defense Forces were alerted on Tuesday (21rd March) because of a flight from London to Doha. The airplane did not contact Hungarian air traffic control when it entered our airspace.Two Gripens were alerted today because of a flight to Doha, Quatar. The DC-10 airplane entered Hungarian airspace at about 10:00 am and it did not established a connection with the traffic control. That’s why NATO alerted Hungarian Defense Forces who sent two Gripens after the airplane.
The two Gripens managed to catch the plane and identified it. The civil airplane contacted the air traffic control at 10:26 am then continued its route to Doha, Quatar.
