More and more people are seeing the doctor with flu-like symptoms, and the number of people requiring intensive care has almost doubled in Hungary compared to the data of last week.Between the 29th of January and the 4th of February, 47,800 people went to the doctor in Hungary with influenza symptoms, while last week only 31,330 people were ill.
The number of ill people is the highest in Fejér and Pest countries. Furthermore, in all areas, apart from Csongrád, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Tolna and Zala counties, laboratories confirmed that the influenza virus has been diagnosed. Most of the ill people are pre-school and elementary school children.
Influenza B virus is responsible for most illnesses.
