Although the number of coronavirus infections in Hungary is steadily falling, precautions are still needed as Covid-19 patients can still be found in various parts of the country, the country’s chief epidemiologist said.
The protection of the most vulnerable groups must be maintained, János Szlávik of the Budapest South Pest Hospital told public broadcaster Kossuth Rádió, noting the importance of physical distancing, face masks and disinfectants. Meanwhile, he said a wide variety of drugs were in use to help treat Covid-19 patients in Hungary, including drugs to treat malaria, HIV-AIDS and influenza, as well as new pills imported from the United States and Japan. Plasma therapy is also effective, he said.
