Hungary on Tuesday will receive another shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, sufficient to inoculate 35,685 people, Cecília Müller, the chief medical officer said at a press briefing.

The amount, she added, was “somewhat less” than expected. So far, Hungary has received enough vaccines to inoculate 129,860 people, and 123,188 people have received their shots, including over 10,000 residents and staff in elderly care homes. She said it was crucial to find vaccine suppliers outside the European Union, adding that at the same time the country should only use “safe and effective vaccines”. Concerning the Chinese vaccine, she said it was a traditional type of jab that “has been tried and tested and do not make patients ill”.
