The inoculation of elderly people in the most senior age group who registered to get a jab against the coronavirus has begun in Hungary, a department head of the National Public Health Centre (NNK) said.

The Moderna jab is being used in the districts of 1,080 general practitioners until Sunday, Ágnes Galgóczi told an online press conference of the operative board coordinating Hungary’s response to the pandemic. This week, Hungary received 7,000 fewer doses of the Moderna vaccine than expected, which allowed for the inoculation of 10,800 people, she said. However, further deliveries are on their way, Galgóczi said.
