With the shipment of Chinese vaccines, which arrived on Tuesday, the country has reached a milestone in its fight against the epidemic, the head of the epidemiology department of the National Center for Public Health (NNK) said in a statement to the public media.
Ágnes Galgóczi said that 550,000 doses of Chinese vaccines had arrived in Hungary, which is enough to vaccinate 275,000 people.
The vaccine is easy to handle and can be stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius, so it is not difficult to transport.
The vaccine is “long-lasting”, can be used for two years, and the single-dose syringe formulation makes it easy to use in GP practices.

The vaccine will only be used if the necessary laboratory tests are carried out in the NCU, as the vaccine comes from outside Europe, it is necessary to do so.

Ágnes Galgóczi added: “such a test is performed on all vaccines, there are places where only the documentation of the preparation is reviewed, and certain laboratory tests are also performed.”
The Chinese vaccine, if available, will be delivered to GPs by government agencies.
The expert pointed out that five types of vaccines are already available in Hungary, while in the EU countries only three types of vaccines are being used.
According to Ágnes Galgóczi, vaccines outside the EU will be of adequate quality and usable, which is important in controlling the epidemic.
