Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén has decorated prominent Hungarians active in minority communities and in religious service across the borders in a ceremony at the prime minister’s office.
Semjén handed out state honours that had been awarded on the occasion of the March 15 national holiday. The ceremony had been pushed back due to the coronavirus epidemic. In his address, Semjén said national and religious identities strengthened one another rather than being in opposition. This segment of Hungarian society is instrumental in preserving national values, he said.
