Viktor Orbán emphasized that 435 thousand people would have received less than this due to the pension law, but thanks to the performance of the economy, the government can pay everyone the uniform amount of 80 thousand forints.
As inflation is higher than expected at the beginning of the year and only half of the inflation compensation was given to seniors until July 1, pensions now need to be adjusted due to higher-than-expected inflation in the second half of the year, the prime minister added.
He said: therefore, there will be a “good number” of pensioners who, in addition to the HUF 80,000 pension premium, can also receive a one-time supplement of around one hundred thousand forints, together with the correction.
