The number of riots has increased so much that on some trains, from November 29, standby police and railway guards will also be traveling on the night and early morning trains from Debrecen.
According to signals received by one of the railway unions, the VDSZSZ, the disruptors shouted, provoked, and frightened passengers and ticket managers on MÁV’s morning and late evening flights, so an escort of armed guards was introduced.
That is why MÁV has decided that from November 29 the security staff of the railway company and the emergency police will travel on the five daily trains to Nyíregyháza – Debrecen – Budapest Nyugati railway station, and from 12 December on seven trains.
Telex tried one of the flights, but on the train departing from Nyíregyháza at 15:45 to Budapest Nyugati railway station, they did not meet any police officers or security guards, and the passengers did not see them either.
The action, which was launched at the end of November, is also considered a success by the police: ORFK replied to a question from Telex that from 29 November to 8 December, the police did not have to take action on these trains in any case.
However, according to the union, the real solution would be to have at least two ticket inspectors on the night and early morning flights.
