Hungary to provide 530,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus to Bangladesh, the foreign and foreign affairs minister said in a video uploaded to his Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
Péter Szijjártó said that Hungary would help speed up the vaccination campaign in Bangladesh and help make people around the world safer.
He emphasized that the Hungarians were able to start “Europe’s fastest vaccination campaign” in the spring. Thanks to this, people were able to keep their lives and jobs safe.
There are many millions of vaccines in stock in Hungary, which allows everyone to receive the first, second, or even third vaccination.
“Plus, we can now help others,” the minister added, emphasizing that this is a global epidemic, “the safer we are (…) the faster people get vaccinated in the rest of the world”. Especially in the states where many live and from where many travels to Europe.
“That is why we are providing the second-largest vaccine aid of all time, this time to Bangladesh,” he highlighted.
Péter Szijjártó stated that Bangladesh is a country with a population of 160 million, with which Hungary has very good cooperation in political, economic, and energy terms.
