An Austrian Piston aircraft flew into the forbidden, three-kilometre zone of Hungary’s Paks nuclear power plant, in central Hungary, the plant’s communications director told MTI late on Friday.
Gripens of the Hungarian military were alerted and they escorted the Piston to Szeged, Antal Kovács said. The Gripens had been scrambled at about 5pm after the Austrian pilot had failed to contact Hungarian aviation control on entering the country, the defence ministry said earlier.
