Changing weather over the long weekend: There may be thunderstorms in some areas

We need to prepare for sunshine and thunderstorms over the festive long weekend, according to the National Meteorological Service’s national medium-term forecast, which was submitted to MTI on Thursday.

There will be plenty of sunshine on Friday, but there may be showers in the southwestern counties in the morning. In the evening, more and more cumulus clouds will be forming in the western counties, and in Transdanubia, there may be more showers and thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by a downpour. Temperatures are usually between 10 and 17 degrees during the coldest hours but can be a few degrees colder in the northern valleys. The highest temperatures are likely to be between 27 and 32 degrees.

On Saturday, “extensive thunderstorms” are expected from a cloud passing from the west. Behind the precipitation zone, it is mostly cloudy, but sunny weather is also probable, and in the afternoon it can rain only in the eastern landscapes. The wind will pick up, and there may be strong or stormy gusts around thunderstorms. The temperature is usually between 14 and 19 degrees in the morning and between 24 and 31 degrees in the afternoon.

Pentecost is expected to be a sunny day. In the western part of the country, showers and thunderstorms may form in the evening. The wind will pick up and get stronger in the vicinity of thunderstorms. The minima are usually between 14 and 18 degrees but can range from 10 to 13 degrees in the northern valleys. Daytime peaks are likely to be between 25 and 30 degrees.

On Pentecost Monday, in the eastern part of the country, mostly sunny, rainless weather is expected, but there will be more clouds in Transdanubia, from which showers and thunderstorms may form. The wind will pick up and get stronger in the vicinity of thunderstorms. It is likely to be 12-17 degrees at dawn but maybe 8-11 degrees in the northern valleys. Peak values ​​are expected between 24 and 29 degrees – read in the forecast.
