She still trains to this day. The centers of gravity changed during her pregnancy, but at the same time, Katinka Hosszú is not saying goodbye to elite sports. The three-time Olympic champion swimmer spoke to MTI in the United States, where the documentary about her life was shown in several locations in recent days.
In New York, the Liszt Institute showed the documentary in three screenings instead of two due to the enormous interest, while in Florida the presentation was also held in front of a full house with the support of the Liszt Institute.
The swimmer told MTI that he also visited the swimming pool in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he swam many times during training camps and where he still met American swimmers, and as the Florida facility put it, “after the Duna Arena, it is the second most beautiful swimming pool in the world”.
She reported that she was still training in the aforementioned swimming pool, despite the fact that her “attitude towards sports is different” due to her pregnancy. As he said, instead of pushing the limits, he is now trying to “train comfortably” to take care of herself. At the same time, the three-time Olympic champion emphasized that the visit to the Florida swimming pool was not about “nostalgia” because he has plans for the future.
As she said, the trip to the United States was her last longer trip before giving birth, and the most important thing now is that both she and the baby are healthy. He added that he also tries to stay in shape.
“I really like swimming and sports, and I have goals for the future as well, so I’m also looking forward to how my life will change, how I will be able to train with the baby,”
– said three-time Olympic champion swimmer Katinka Hosszú on the last day of her visit to the United States.
