Schedules change on the Day of the Dead and All Saints’ Day

The schedule of trains and long-distance buses will change on All Saints’ Day and the Day of the Dead, the MÁV-Volán group pointed out in a statement.


It was pointed out that on the first of November, the trains will run according to the holiday schedule: the more used morning and afternoon InterCity trains will be connected with one or two more cars compared to the possibilities, depending on the advance purchase of seat tickets.

Children, families, students, student and adult groups, and pensioners can enjoy the usual discounts. Those under the age of 26 who are no longer studying can use the 33 percent weekend discount from 10 a.m. on October 31 until midnight on November 1.

On October 30, the first day of the fall break, Volánbusz runs according to the schedule valid on the first school holiday working day of the week, and on October 31, the school holiday working day. The schedule will be in effect on All Saints’ Day, November 1st, as a non-working day, on November 2nd, as the day of the dead, and on November 3rd, as the last working day of the week. On November 4, the buses will start according to the usual traffic schedule, according to the holiday schedule, they wrote.

In some settlements, during the commemorations held on the occasion of All Saints’ Day and the Day of the Dead, extra services run in order to better reach the cemeteries. The HÉVs will run according to the schedule valid on October 31 and November 2 and 3 during the school break, and on November 1 according to the schedule valid on public holidays, the announcement states.
