An accident occurred on the Püspökladány–Biharkeresztes line on Wednesday at 4:20 a.m. A freight train did not take into account the no-passing signal at Sáp station for reasons that have not yet been clarified, it exceeded the signal and collided with a passenger train from Biharkeresztes to Püspökladány which was waiting at the station.
Both train drivers, the ticket inspector, and 4 of the 5 passengers on the train got injured and are being treated by the ambulance.
According to the available information, the passengers got slightly injured. The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
Traffic changes:
Train service between Püspökladány and Berettyóújfalu is suspended during the site investigation. Passengers are transported by replacement buses on this section. Those traveling this way should expect a longer travel time. Railway tickets and passes are accepted on the Volánbusz routes between Berettyóújfalu-Debrecen, Berettyóújfalu-Kaba and Püspökladány-Báránd.
The Corona InterCity (406) traveling from Brasov to Keleti railway station takes passengers only to Biharkeresztes. Passengers will be transported by another train (6429) to Berettyóújfalu, and from there to Püspökladány by a replacement bus. From Püspökladány, travelers can take a train to Keleti railway station. Their international tickets are accepted on trains to the capital.
