Quiet autumn weather is expected this week, with some sunshine

Although scattered rain showers may occur on Tuesday, mostly quiet autumn weather with varying amounts of sunshine and temperatures around 20°C is expected throughout the week. The wind will be brisk in many areas, occasionally strong, and in the latter half of the week, temperatures may drop to around freezing in sheltered, cold-prone areas, according to the forecast from HungaroMet Zrt.

On Monday, the layered cloud cover in the southwestern third of the country will slowly dissipate, giving way to some scattered clouds, while elsewhere, plenty of sunshine can be expected in the morning. From noon, thicker clouds will arrive from the west, leading to temporarily increased cloudiness everywhere. No precipitation is expected during the day, but light rain cannot be ruled out in some places by evening. Winds will be generally moderate, with occasional gusts in some areas. The maximum daytime temperatures will range between 14°C and 19°C.

On Tuesday, the sky will be mostly cloudy or overcast, with less cloudiness in the southwest until the morning. During the day, the clouds will break up, with partly cloudy weather and several hours of sunshine, especially in the southwest. Scattered light rain or showers are possible until the morning in most areas, except in the southwest, but the chance of rain decreases during the day. The southwest wind will turn to the north and northwest in more areas and may become brisk in some places. Morning temperatures will range between 3°C and 12°C, while afternoon highs will range between 14°C and 22°C, warmer in the south and cooler in the north.

On Wednesday, mostly clear or partly cloudy, sunny weather is expected, although the west and southwest may remain cloudy. Precipitation is unlikely, though light rain may occur in the west. In the North Transdanubia region, the southeast wind may be brisk and occasionally strong, while in other areas, easterly winds will remain moderate. The morning lows will generally range between 2°C and 9°C, but in wind-sheltered, clear areas, temperatures could drop to around freezing. In the west, due to the cloud cover, nighttime temperatures will be milder, between 7°C and 11°C, with daytime highs between 12°C and 18°C.

On Thursday, the sky will initially be clear or partly cloudy, with temporary clearing in the west as well. However, during the day, mid- and high-level clouds may increase in most areas except for the eastern and northeastern regions. No precipitation is expected. The easterly and southeast wind will pick up in many areas, with occasional strong gusts. Morning lows will generally be between 2°C and 7°C, but in wind-sheltered, cold-prone areas, temperatures may drop to freezing. In the west, nighttime temperatures will be milder, between 5°C and 9°C, with afternoon highs ranging between 13°C and 19°C.

On Friday, mostly cloudy weather is expected, though there will be less cloudiness in the northeast and east, where the sun will shine more. No precipitation is expected, but light rain may occur in the west. The easterly wind will pick up in many areas, with strong gusts possible in some places. Morning lows will generally range between 5°C and 10°C, but in the less cloudy northeastern and eastern areas, minimums could range between 0°C and 5°C, with temperatures possibly dropping below freezing in cold-prone areas. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise to between 12°C and 18°C.

On Saturday, mostly cloudy weather is expected, though there will be less cloudiness in the northeast, where the sun will shine more. No precipitation is expected, but light rain may occur in the west. The southeast and easterly wind will pick up in many areas, with strong gusts possible in some places. Morning temperatures will generally drop to between 3°C and 10°C, but in wind-sheltered, cold-prone areas in the northeast, temperatures could fall below freezing. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise to between 12°C and 18°C.

On Sunday, variable cloudiness is expected with occasional sunshine, but light precipitation may occur in some places. The easterly wind will turn to the north but will only occasionally strengthen. Morning temperatures will generally range between 3°C and 10°C, but in less cloudy, wind-sheltered, cold-prone areas in the northeast, temperatures could fall below freezing. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise to between 11°C and 19°C.
