This year, Joulupukki, the Finnish Santa Claus, will visit Hungary again at the invitation of the Mikulásgyár (Santa Factory). The Mikulásgyár, one of Hungary’s largest charitable fundraising events, is celebrating its 20th anniversary, with activities planned from November 29 to December 21, 2024.
During this anniversary, the Finnish Santa will travel across the country for 13 days to meet Hungarian children and deliver gifts. The goal is to collect at least 120,000 kilograms of non-perishable food for needy families and to gift at least 25,000 children during Joulupukki’s visit.
Last year, the Mikulásgyár provided quality gift packages to 8,314 children in 54 small settlements. Over ten days, Joulupukki met 17,000 children at 20 events across ten towns, traveling 3,300 kilometers in Hungary.
Endre Zsolnai, the main organizer, expressed gratitude to all donors and volunteers supporting the Mikulásgyár’s success. He hopes to bring even more smiles to children’s faces in this jubilee year with the help of the Finnish Santa and volunteers.
