At the Nyíregyház site of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Hospital, pediatric surgery inpatient care for children under the age of 14 has been suspended from January 1st. According to the decision of the National Center for Public Health and Pharmaceuticals, it is necessary to suspend the supply due to the “temporary lack of necessary personnel conditions”.
The hospital in Nyíregyháza wrote in its response that pediatric surgery services are always available in the specialist surgery, and as part of the one-day surgical care, the beds and technical equipment required for patient care are provided by the Pediatric Department. Emergency care for children under the age of 14, as well as cases requiring a high level of professional preparation, is provided at the pediatric surgery department of the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Debrecen – they wrote.
According to the information on the website of the hospital, the children’s surgeons at the Jósa András Hospital in Nyíregyháza examine the patients, and they decide whether the planned care is carried out in Nyíregyháza or Debrecen.
