The number of road accidents in Hungary resulting in injury or death fell almost 2% to 16,627 in 2019, data compiled by the Central Statistical Office show. A total of 22,198 people were injured or killed in the accidents, also down 2%. Fully one-quarter suffered serious injuries and close to 3% died. Driver error was the cause of over 93% of accidents during the period.
