On the outskirts of Kismarja on January 10, 2021, three foreigners claiming to be Afghan citizens were arrested by police patrols. The two men and one woman could not credibly prove their identity and that they were legally residing in Hungary.
In accordance with the Hungarian legislation in force, they were taken to the Létavértes Border Police Station, where an immigration police procedure was initiated against them, and then the border violators were handed over to the representatives of the Romanian authorities.
