The Debrecen Regional Investigation Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into all three members of the family for the crime of violence against an official.
On the evening of October 22, 2020, police officers on duty at the Berettyóújfalu Police Headquarters appeared at a property in Hajdú-Bihar County to investigate a report of theft.
According to the indictment, a 30-year-old drunk man shouted and repeatedly threatened the police officers while objecting to the measure. Police repeatedly called on the accused to put an end to the aggressive behavior, but he did not do so, and he even attempted to attack the officers while threatening them.
At that time, one of the policemen used the service dog against the accused, who, after being pushed by the dog – regaining his balance – tried to attack the policeman. Police eventually applied physical coercion to the man and handcuffed him.
On February 2, 2021, the Debrecen Regional Investigation Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against the accused, who has been arrested for the crime of violence against an official at the Berettyóújfalu District Court.
On the evening of January 30, 2021, the accused’s brother and father attacked the lawfully acting police officers with knives, so the prosecutor’s office ordered an investigation against them for the crime of armed violence against an official. The Debrecen District Court ordered the arrest of both persons in accordance with the prosecutor’s motion.
