Hajdú-Bihar county police officers, together with employees of the Romanian authorities, have arrested 12 foreigners trying to cross the state border illegally in the last 12 hours, police.hu published.
The police stopped a Turkish truck in at the Arthandean border crossing on April 21 at 6:15 p.m., with 12 people hiding in its hold. They declared themselves as Syrian and Iraqi citizens.
They did not have the documents necessary for crossing the border, they could not prove the legality of their stay in Hungary to be credible, so they could not enter the territory of Hungary. The proceedings against the persons are carried out by the Romanian Border Police.
