The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against the man who did not spend the money received from the customer for electrical work for the misappropriation of embezzlement.
The victim commissioned renovation work on his family home in the fall of 2020, thus contacting the defendant, with whom he agreed to perform the electrical installation work.
Based on the work undertaken, the victim in September 2020
he handed over more than 450,000 forints to the accused, then in December he paid another 40,000 forints to the man.
Although the accused started the work, he only performed the task of installing a material worth about 50,000 forints, after which it became inaccessible to the victim.
The accused did not use the sums of money received from the victim for the work ordered, but partly for his own purposes and partly for other work. Of the nearly HUF 500,000 in damage caused to the victim, HUF 50,000 was recovered,
at the same time, the Debrecen District Court locked the accused’s car in order to secure the civil law claim that the victim wanted to enforce.
The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted the defendant for the misappropriation of the accused to a lesser extent in the Debrecen District Court. In the indictment, the district prosecutor’s office filed a motion for the district court to impose a criminal sentence on the basis of the contents of the case files and to impose a fine on the accused.
