On the morning of November 28, 2021, a fish guard reported to the police that he had been almost hit by a poach along the Eastern Main Canal. Police officers immediately went to the scene, where they soon began to outline what had happened on the waterfront.
The two fish guards went to two men who had just pulled a neck net out of the main channel. They wanted to talk to them, but one of the men ran away, got in his car, and drove off the scene. He did not care about the fact that one of the fish guards was standing in front of his vehicle, and if the man did not jump away from the car, he would have been hit. The patrols immediately began searching for the driver, who was identified and intercepted within an hour.
Criminal prosecutors in Püspökladány have interrogated the 54-year-old resident of Zák as a suspect in a crime against a person performing public duties and a poaching offense, while his partner, a 53-year-old man, must be held accountable for a misdemeanor.
