A 74-year-old man died after setting himself on fire in Veszprém, in the agricultural department of the district office, on Monday, a spokesman for the Veszprém County Police Headquarters told MTI.
Alexandra Máté said the old man spilled flammable material in the office at 2:40 p.m., then set himself on fire. The elderly man died on the spot. 37 people had to be evicted from the office due to the fire. No one but the man was injured, but there was significant material damage to the building. Police have initiated proceedings in the case on suspicion of a public threat, a spokesman said.
