A woman reported to police at dawn on March 21, 2022, that someone was trying to break into her car. Several units immediately hurried to the scene and began searching for the perpetrator based on the ID they received. Not long after, they became attentive to a man on a nearby street. He was verified and then questioned about his dawn walk. The otherwise resident of Tiszaőrs gave confused, incoherent answers to the questions of the uniforms, so he was produced for the police station.
At the interrogation, the 32-year-old man had already given detailed confessions to investigators. The original goal was to steal alloy wheels for your own car. He unscrewed the bolts from the rims of two cars, but he was already in the way of further work, unable to remove the wheels. He then decided that if he couldn’t steal a rim, he would tie up a car to take home.
He tried to crack a total of three cars. He wanted to break the window of the first with a piece of concrete, he tried to tension the hood of the second, while he wanted to get into the passenger compartment through the trunk of the third. In neither case was it successful, however, it damaged the vehicles.
The Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters detained the man for a well-founded suspicion of committing an attempted theft and made a motion to arrest him.
