A report of abuse was received by the police on the evening of March 15, 2022. A man wanted to take revenge on his acquaintance, a 51-year-old woman. They met in front of the victim’s home in Balmazújváros, where they quarreled, and then the man hit the woman several times. However, man’s run did not end here, and the woman lying on the ground was dragged into the yard of the property, where she continued to be abused. The man decided to flee only when the woman threatened to report it to the police.
The police officers began searching for the 25-year-old resident of Gönc with great force and then issued an arrest warrant against him. On April 13, 2022, the police of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County found a man hiding at his relatives in Encs, who was handed over to their colleagues in Hajdú-Bihar the next day. László L. did not testify at the interrogation of the suspect.
Investigators have been held in criminal custody for a well-founded suspicion of attempted homicide and a motion has been made to arrest him.
The victim suffered serious injuries, however, the completed medical expert opinion found that the means and method of abuse could have been suitable for killing the woman’s life as well.
