Police

The Debrecen police have completed the investigation of an unusual blackmail story, the Debrecen police announced.

A young woman was offered sexual services to the victim via Messenger in December 2022. The man from Debrecen took the opportunity. After the meeting, he paid both the woman and the mediator. However, the same evening, he received a message informing him that the girl had become ill, and that if he did not want the parents to notify the police, he should send another fifty thousand and then another twenty thousand forints.

The man knew that the young woman was 15 years old, so he got scared and transferred the amount. From there, there was no stopping. He received more and more messages, he was constantly being blackmailed.

Either because, according to their claim, the girl became pregnant, or because she became psychologically involved in the “act”. They also made him believe that the girl’s parents found out what happened and wanted to report it. And the last time they contacted him, they said that the young girl died and the money was needed for a tombstone.

The 36-year-old man transferred money to the blackmailers a total of fifty-eight times, more than eight million forints. He financed part of it with a loan. In the end, he filed a police report on March 14, 2023.

As a result of the investigation, three residents of Szabolc came into the sights of the investigators. L. Lászlóné (38), her half-sister R. Fruzsina (21) and her partner V. Attila (20) were arrested on April 12, when they were preparing to receive another extorted amount. All three confessed. Of course, none of the claims about the mediated woman were true. She was not 15 but 28 years old, she didn’t get sick, she didn’t get pregnant, she didn’t die.

The Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Department has completed the procedure for the well-founded suspicion of the crime of extortion, and sent the documents to the prosecutor’s office with a proposal to indict.
