A young man from Hajdúhadház robbed people sleeping on benches in Debrecen

The Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Department initiated proceedings against a man from Hajdúhadház for two counts of robbery, misuse of a public document and misuse of a cash-substitute payment instrument.

The suspect took a mobile phone and a wallet from men sleeping on a bench in downtown Debrecen at dawn on February 17, 2024. After taking the money out of his wallet, he threw it away and hid the device under a railing and fled.

After the report, the police immediately collected data and arrested the 26-year-old man within half an hour. He was interrogated, and then taken into criminal custody, and his arrest was initiated. He confessed.

The investigators found the stolen valuables and returned them to the owners in their entirety.
