Police officers in Balmazújváros conducted proceedings against a local man as part of the DELTA Program.
According to the information, from June last year until his arrest, the suspect regularly sold “crystal” (a synthetic drug) to buyers in Balmazújváros and neighboring settlements. In October, officers raided the dealer’s home, where they found substances suspected to be drugs, along with tools used for drug consumption and distribution. As part of asset recovery measures, investigators also seized gold jewelry and cash.
The 28-year-old dealer was questioned on suspicion of trafficking in new psychoactive substances, taken into custody, and subsequently remanded by the court. The Criminal Division of the Balmazújváros Police Department has completed the investigation and forwarded the case to the prosecutor’s office with a recommendation for indictment.
Authorities emphasize that new psychoactive substances are often of dubious origin and composition, making their effects unpredictable and potentially fatal. The police remain committed to the fight against drugs, with the clear goal of reducing supply and dismantling distribution networks.
If you witness or have information about drug-related crimes, you can report it anonymously 24/7 via the Telefontanú hotline at 06-80-555-111 or by calling the free emergency number 112.
