World Record in Eindhoven

Katinka Hosszú has broken her fourth World Record in two days at the World Cup in Eindhoven in the women’s 200 IM.

Hosszú swam a 2:04.39 to break both the World Cup Record and the World Record in the women’s 200 short course meter IM on Wednesday in prelims.

That broke the old World Record set by American Julia Smit in the waning days of the 2009 polyurethane suit era; Smit was a 2:04.60 at the 2009 Duel in the Pool in Manchester. The old World Cup Record was held by the also Hungarian Evelin Verrasztó with a 2:06.01, also from 2009.
