Hungarian fencer Gyöngyi Szalay died yesterday in Veszprém at the age of 49.Gyöngyi Szalay was a world champion seven times and she also won a bronze medal at the 1996 summer Olympics in the women’s individual épée.
She died in the hospital of Veszprém after she had been revived two times – once at the event she collapsed suddenly and once in the ambulance car.
