The Greek national team won the men’s water polo World League European qualifiers after defeating the Montenegrin team in the final of the tournament in Debrecen on Sunday.
The first two quarters of the final were dominated by the Greek team, which had already led by four goals at halftime, and could have started the final part of the game with a five-goal advantage, leaving no excitement for the fourth.
The top three finishers in the tournament – besides Greece and Montenegro, the Italian national team – made it to the World Cup Summer Final in Georgia. The European champion Hungarian team finished in sixth place.
