On the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Culture, 76 pedagogues have been awarded by the state. Four of them belong to the University of Debrecen.
In the ceremony, János Halász, State Secretary at the Ministry of National Resources spoke about the values and importance of great teachers. 
Among university teachers, 4 people from the University of Debrecen were awarded: Etelka Farkas (Vice-Dean of Education in the Faculty of Science and Technology) and András Jávor, (Vice-Rector of Education in the University of Debrecen) were awarded with Szent-Györgyi Albert Award, János Kátai (Dean of the University of Debrecen) and Zoltán Tóth (Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology) with Apáczai Csere János Award.
