University of Debrecen and TEVA have announced a competition for the students of the university. The competition, which has 1,5 million Forints fee, was won by a lifesaving application to cell phones.
The innovative competition was announced by the University of Debrecen and TEVA. Ideas, that are innovative, creative and help to improve the lives of people between 18 and 30 were expected to the completion.
Lajos Hegdűs, chief executive of TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory was asked about the competition by Este7. “We thought that it is a good idea to give freedom to the imagination. The university has a lot of students and we were curious about new ideas.”
Among the competitive themes there were developments of technical devices, ideas concerning the improvement of university students’ lives and ideas to make the university registration system easier. The 3rd place was won by a cell phone application of the Neptune system, the 2nd place went to a campaign film that popularizes healthier life style. The 1st place with 500 000 Forints was won by an application that uses the sensors of a mobile phone.
The winner, Antal Zsíros, student of Faculty of Engineering said: “This application is suitable for detecting accidents; it also calls for help, if it is necessary. It is teachable, accurate, and it can be a lifesaver in certain situations.”
The four winner of the competition will receive their winnings in September, together with their scholarship.
