A life-saving mobile application won the “jump! Create outstanding!” innovative competition.
The application was developed by Antal Zsíros, a student of electrical engineering, who was given the honour of “the most creative university student of Debrecen” and half a million forints.
The competition was announced by the TEVA Pharmaceuticals and the University of Debrecen. The organisers were looking for innovative ideas which contribute to the improvement of quality of life of 18-30 years old youngsters.
Application could be submitted in 4 categories: physical and mental health, culture and entertainment, financial security and liveable environment.
Nearly 60 students submitted their work to the competition and 11 of them got into the finals. In most of the cases students dealt with financial situations of students linked with the importance of professional experience.
The work of Annamária Pisák student of the Faculty of Pharmacy won the third prize. The application immediately notifies users about the events of Neptun system, making many students’ life easier. Another participant, Dorottya Kovács is a student of Communication and Media Studies. She developed a campaign video to promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle which was rated as second best. The public vote was won by Miklós Orosz, student of the Faculty of Medicine with nearly 3,300 votes.
Antal Zsíros, a student of electrical engineering, was awarded first prize and 500 thousand forints. His mobile application is able to detect any accidents and is capable of calling for help for the victim.
The aim of the competition was to provide opportunity for creative students of the University of Debrecen to introduce their ideas, thus enabling them to have better carrier opportunities in the future.
