József Pálinkás, president of Hungarian Academy of Sciences was greeted on his 60th birthday, on 10th September.
József Pálinkás, as the president of the Institute of Nuclear Research, developed the laboratory of electron-cyclotron resonance 20 years ago. The laboratory is internationally recognized, it has connections with several foreign research facilities, many Hungarian and foreign scientists work there.
Pálinkás was greeted by István Fábián, Rector of the University of Debrecen; in his speech he was commemorating those times when he and József Pálinkás worked together in the Committee of University of Sciences. Fábián emphasised the efforts of József Pálinkás to develop the standards of higher education in Debrecen.
József Pálinkás was also greeted by Lajos Kósa, mayor of Debrecen. Kósa said that the presence of the Academic institution is extremely important for the city.
