Date: Tuesday 24th of March 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Venue: Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen, Main Building, Studio 111 (1. Egyetem square)
Programme: The next movie of the IEAS Film Club is going to be Donnie Darko (2001) by Richard Kelly.
Donnie Darko, a troubled teenager living in Middlesex, Virginia, is awakened and led outside by a figure in a monstrous rabbit costume, who introduces himself as “Frank” and tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds.
Creepy, right? And it gets even better.
Bring along your boyfriend, girlfriend, flatmate, comissar, most and least favourite Victorian novelists, your non-violant pet and your non-violent grandmother. Entry is free, but make sure you bring some snacks, possibly something you can rattle with during the screening to enhance the experience.
After the screening, a casual discussion is going to be held about the topics the movie touches upon.
Everyone is welcome at the event!
