Date: Tuesday 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Venue: Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen, Main Building, Studio 111 (1. Egyetem square)
Programme: This semester is coming to its end, but don’t bewail! Film Club is still on. This week’s movie is coming from Australia so take a guess who made the suggestion. IMBb-score: 8.2, so it must be something.
Story goes like this: A tale of friendship between two unlikely pen pals: Mary, a lonely, eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max, a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York.
Bring along your boyfriend, girlfriend, flatmate, comissar, most and least favourite titleraper (a person who doesn’t find a comedy’s title funny enough, though it was not supposed to be funny anyways, and creates a monstrous Hungarian title), your non-violent pet and your non-violent grandmother. Entry is free, but make sure you bring some snacks, possibly something you can rattle with during the screening to enhance the experience.
After the screening a casual discussion is going to be held about the topics the movie touches upon.
