Date: Today 26th of May 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen, Main Building, Studio 111 (1. Egyetem square)
Programme: VERY IMPORTANT: Come to see this film, because it’s great. But. Don’t check it on the internet. Don’t read about it on Wikipedia, don’t watch any trailer, because any additional information other than our discripion may spoil the experience for you. It is a great movie, and it is even better if you have no information about it when it starts. Believe us.
Another disclaimer: The screening is going to be in English with English subtitles. It is no big news since all of you speak English, but we felt that you should know about it.
So what is this all about? Cabin in the Woods is a movie that looks like yet another generic horror film, but it is anything but. Written and directed by Josh Whedon, the geek god, who brought us (among others) the two Avengers.
The story goes like this: Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods.
Bring along your boyfriend, girlfriend, flatmate, comissar, most and least favourite geek god/godess, your non-violent pet and your non-violent grandmother. Entry is free, but make sure you bring some snacks, possibly something you can rattle with during the screening to enhance the experience.
After the screening a casual discussion is going to be held about the topics the movie touches upon… IN TENISZKE.
