New super computer of the University of Debrecen is worth 1,7 billion forints and it is called LEO.
Zoltán Bács, chancellor of the institute has stated at the press conference on Wednesday that the University of Debrecen is receiving LEO, the super computer which costs 1,7 billion forints, thanks to the project called Super Information Technology in Higher Educational Institutions.
LEO is among the best 500 computers of the world and it is already under a development process, so its capacity and efficiency will be doubled.
István Gaál, delegate claimed that all fields of studies – for instance literature, astronomy, medical science, genetics – are able to use the super computer which can easily become a yielding investment.
