Senate of the University of Debrecen had its final meeting on the 15th December.The senate closed both the year of 2016 and the period between 2013 and 2016, too at their final meeting at the University of Debrecen on the 15h of December.
The members had a discussion about the budget of 2017 and the most important milestones of the last three years at the universtiy.
Zoltán Szilvássy, rector of the University of Debrecen opened the senate’s final meeting with announcing the results of the elections regarding the university’s new senate.
5469 people had the right to vote for the new senate members, 2738 of them actually voted. The new senate is going to start on the 1st of January 2017.
Thirty-six teachers, researchers and other employees will form the new senate, apart from the rector, the chancellor, the elected thirteen deans and representatives of the Students’ Union. Altogether seventy members will form the new senate and their mandates will last for four years, the 31st of 2020.
